The police crime branch in Nagpur has taken action against thieves and burglars, successfully resolving nine cases in two operations. This has brought relief to the citizens. In one operation, two burglars were captured, and seven cases were solved. The city police have intensified efforts to address vehicle theft and burglary concerns among the citizens. In the first operation, two burglars were apprehended, and seven cases were resolved. Last month, a burglary occurred at the residence of Mukesh Nipani in Vaishali Nagar, leading to a police investigation. The crime branch identified two suspects, Ramakant alias Rambhau Shahu (27) and Narendra alias Bali Bokde (23), who confessed to three burglaries and four vehicle thefts. Stolen items and vehicles worth Rs9.53 lakh were recovered. Both suspects are reported to be substance abusers. In a separate incident, three individuals were arrested, and two cases of vehicle theft were solved. The arrests were made with the help of CCTV footage and intelligence on the ground.Two stolen vehicles have been recovered, along with the bike used in the crime, with a total value of Rs1.20 lakh. It has been reported that a majority of vehicle thefts take place in busy or market areas of the city. Additionally, most burglaries occur on the outskirts of the city, within police station jurisdictions like Hudkeshwar, Wathoda, Pratap Nagar, among others. Local residents have requested increased night patrolling by the police to prevent such incidents. The police have advised citizens to inform their neighbors and respective police stations if they plan to leave the city, so that the police and local community can keep a watchful eye on their homes.
